Mailing Equipment Changes Expected
Mailers can expect the new tabbing regulations to prompt
mailing equipment manufacturers to offer new tabbers and related equipment
to meet the new regulations that require up to three tabs on different
edges of the a mail piece.
Peak Business Equipment urges buyers to make due with
their existing mailing equipment until at least several manufacturers have
released their tabbing solution. Manufacturers are under tremendous
pressure to be the first few out of the gate, which typically means there
will be some bugs to work out.
For high volume mailers, the easiest immediate solution is
to run two inline floor model tabbers in tandem. This isn't an
option for many, so again they'll have to wait until the new products are
available. Peak Business Equipment will let it's customers know as
soon as the new mailing equipment solutions are available.
New Postage Rates Start May 11, 2009
Not much can be said here that hasn't already been said
before. Direct mail is still an cost effective means of advertising,
but we're concerned that increase costs means that direct mail loses some
ground on the return on investment each time the cost increases.
Used Mailing Equipment Deals
Buyer beware is the best advice we can give anyone tempted
to buy used mailing equipment from unknown sellers. Do your homework
and if at all possible, purchase used mailing equipment from a business
that will stand behind the product. |
